What paper stock do you print on?

Our Business Cards are printed on 14-point glossy card stock with UV coating on the color side(s). Postcards and door hangers are also available in either 14-point glossy stock or 12-point glossy card stock with optional UV coating. All other products are available in a choice of 70#, 80# or 100# gloss text paper stock with overall aqueous coating on both sides.

What kind of press do you use?

For most jobs we use our Komori Lithrone 5-color sheet fed press with inline Aqueous coater and infra red drying. Wet ink takes hours to dry. Printers without inline coating and drying have to wait for the ink to fully dry before the job gets turned over and printed on the second side. The benefit of ColorPoint's inline AQ coating process means faster turn times and higher quality for our customers. While our competitors are waiting for the ink to dry, we've already trimmed, folder and shipped most of our customer's orders.

What kind of inks do you use?
All of our products are printed with the four process ink colors: (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). We do not use toners or inkjet printers.

What line screen do you print with?
Our Suprasetter CtP system produces plates at 175 line screen (lines per inch) at 2540 dpi.

Can I request spot color?
No. We print using a 4-color process, meaning that all of our products are printed with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black inks. We do not use special spot or Pantone colors, although you may request a custom quote.

Can I write or print on UV coating?
No. The surface is high gloss.

What kinds of varnish (coating) do you use?
Depending on what product you are ordering, you can select from aqueous coating or UV coating.

Can you score and fold my card?
Yes. In most cases we can score and fold your order.

Can I place an order for a custom size card if I order online?
Currently we are unable to accept custom size orders through the online ordering system.

When preparing press-ready digital files, what size should I build my file to?
Please build your press-ready digital files to either the trim size (if it does not bleed) or to the bleed size (by adding 1/16"' beyond the trim on each edge).

Can I put a border on my card?
You can have a border around the edge of your card, but for best results, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 1/8" from border to edge of card. Also, keep in mind that we cannot guarantee perfectly even margins on all sides. Due to slight variances in either press or cutting equipment, some borders may appear unequal. For best appearance you may want eliminate borders or use wide ones that bleed.

What is the required bleed?
Our bleed is 0.0625" or 1/16'. All products available are listed at their trim size. You should build your document to allow 1/6" beyond the trim on each edge. Example: A job with a trim size of 8-1/2"x11" with bleeds would need a document size of 8-5/8"x11-1/8".

What if my cards don't bleed?
We require ALL files to be built to the full bleed dimension specified for each trim size. We automatically trim 0.1" or 0.125" off of each edge, which will result in the desired trim size.

How do I prepare files for trim?
Simply add 0.0625” (or 1/16”) to each edge of document. Example: a 4”x6” would have a bleed size of 4.125”x6.125”. Do not add crop marks, registration marks or color bars.

Can I cancel or change my order?
ColorPoint will be happy to help you cancel your order prior to approval. However, orders may be eligible for cancellation upon request via email. Our Customer Service Team will inform you of any cancellation charges depending on the stage of the order. If job is cancelled, any labor hours or administrative fees (credit card fees, etc.) will be subtracted from your refund.

What if I am not satisfied with my order?
ColorPoint is committed to customer satisfaction. However, we are not responsible for typing, color, image or design errors introduced by the customer in the document creation process. Before submitting an order, you should thoroughly read through the order submission guidelines and preflight checklist. You can avoid potential problems by constructing your files properly.

What is your return/print policies?
Since each order is unique to each customer, it has no re-sale value, therefore All Sales Are Final. If we verify that we made an error on our end, we will reprint the order. No Refunds or Credit.

Customer must notify ColorPoint within 6 business days of order acceptance to notify of any defects discovered in the ordered product.  In order to receive replacement the customer must return 100% of the received product within 15 days (at their own expense) from the time when the delivery was received.

All new charges related to expediting printing (Rush Printing or Shipping) are NON REFUNDABLE, including those orders that are returned for any reason.

Please note that any short run order of 1000 pieces or less may run digitally, and will not have any aqueous coatings. The digital press has been calibrated to the same standards as our Komori presses and as a result you will still receive the same high quality product.
